Civilizations in the Galaxy
Solar Republic
The Solar Republic is one of the Big Three civilizations in the galaxy. As the largest civilization in the galaxy, they maintain peace and stability over several solar systems through a longstanding military dictatorship. Although criticized for it's lack of political freedom, the quality of life for citizens is consistently maintained for the SR citizens. The SR fights to maintain peace and stability in the galaxy.
The New Confederation
The New Confederation is one of the Big Three civilizations in the galaxy. Formed after the Second Earth War, it is comprised by a collection of corporations and private organizations loosely governed by democratic decentralized governments. The NC formed as a corporatist rebellion against the central authoritarian control of the SR, fighting to ensure a place of freedom and economic liberty in the galaxy.
Volar Sovereignty
The Volar Sovereignty are one of the Big Three civilizations in the galaxy. A collection of religious technocrats and transhumanists, they formed after the Second Earth War with the goal of advancing the human race and discovering alien life. The VS formed in rebellion against the SR, believing that technological advancement and open scientific discovery was not prioritized highly enough for the benefit of the human race.
Shadowfall
The Shadowfall is a cluster of solar systems inhabited by Pirates and other criminal factions. They are loosely governed by a shadow council and occupy several solar systems outside of main transport routes. They possess a large defense force that maintains their control of the solar systems, repelling attempts by other civilizations to destroy them.

Vega Republic
The Republic of Demograd is a small civilization located in Sol-346. Formed by defecting factions of the SR, their Solar System is a popular tourist attraction due to their proximity to a black hole - time runs slightly slower in the system, by approximately 1 day a week, giving travelers an extra vacation day.
